Authorised dealer
What authorised means
An authorised dealer has a direct agreement with the manufacturer. That means we buy through the official channel, our technicians are trained and certified on the equipment, we hold genuine service parts, and every unit we sell is registered to you with the manufacturer.
It is not a marketing badge. It is the difference between a warranty that exists and one that does not.
Why grey-market gear is a real problem
Grey-market means genuine product bought outside the manufacturer's dealer network. It is not counterfeit, and that is exactly what makes it convincing.
The first consequence is warranty: manufacturers do not honour warranties on units sold outside their network, and no amount of receipts changes that. The second is servicing: an authorised technician generally cannot perform warranty work on a unit with no dealer chain behind it.
The third is the one that matters. If a manufacturer issues a safety recall — and they do, on regulators and computers — they contact registered owners through the dealer network. A grey-market unit has no registration and no dealer. Nobody knows you have it, so nobody tells you. You find out when it fails, which for life-support equipment is the wrong time.
How to tell
A price substantially below every authorised dealer is the first signal. Missing or defaced serial numbers are the second. A retailer who will not state plainly whether they are authorised for a brand is the third.
Ask directly: "are you an authorised dealer for this brand?" It is a yes-or-no question and the answer is checkable with the manufacturer.
What we do about it
The authorised dealer badge appears on a product page only where we genuinely hold that agreement. Every product in this system defaults to not authorised, and the badge has to be switched on per brand by a human who knows it is true.
Where we are not authorised for a brand, the product page says so rather than staying quiet about it. We would rather lose a sale than imply a warranty that will not be honoured.
Brands we are authorised for
No brand has been marked authorised in our system yet, so no dealer badge appears anywhere on this site. We would rather show nothing than claim an agreement we have not confirmed. This list fills in as each agreement is verified.
