Built for one breath

Freediving gear is designed around efficiency: every piece exists to get you down and back on a single breath with the least effort. Long-blade fins move far more water per kick than scuba fins; plastic blades are durable and affordable, fibreglass is lighter and springier, and carbon fibre gives the most return per kick at the highest price. Low-volume masks need less air to equalise as you descend, which matters when every litre in your lungs counts. Open-cell wetsuits seal directly to the skin for far more warmth per millimetre than a lined scuba suit, at the cost of needing lubricant to put on.

Safety is equipment too

A freediving computer tracks depth, dive time and surface interval and alarms at the depths you set. A lanyard connects you to the descent line on deep dives; a float and line give your buddy a reference and a place to rest. Neck weights and rubber belts put ballast where it keeps your trim right. Our freediving guides cover fin choice and getting started, and every product page lists stiffness, foot pocket size or suit thickness so you can compare.
