What a dive computer needs to do for you

Every computer in this range tracks depth, time and no-decompression limits and gives you a safety stop and ascent alarm. The differences that matter are: display, where a colour screen is easier to read in low light than a segmented grey one; gas modes, from air-only entry models through nitrox to multi-gas trimix and closed-circuit rebreather support; air integration, where a wireless transmitter on your first stage shows cylinder pressure and remaining gas time on your wrist; and form factor, whether you want a watch you can wear every day, a large wrist unit with big digits, or a console that combines the computer with your pressure gauge and compass.

Wrist, console or watch

Wrist computers are the most flexible and easiest to read. Consoles keep everything on one hose and suit divers who prefer a single glance. Watch-style computers trade screen size for a unit you can wear to dinner. Whichever you choose, check battery type (user-replaceable coin cell versus rechargeable) and whether the model can be upgraded with new modes by firmware, which extends its useful life considerably.

Our dive computer guide walks through the decision in more detail, and every product page lists the gas modes, display type, battery and depth rating side by side. Gauges, transmitters and screen protectors for the models we sell are in the sub-categories below.
